Totoro Museum

The museum is in Mitaka , about 20 minutes from Shinjuku.
Mitaka is a really nice town - not like the hustling, bustling mess of Tokyo.

We got out of the station and saw some signs pointing to the bus to the museum.
The bus was jammed with little kids, so we decided to walk along the river.
It's a nice walk and only a little over a kilometer to the museum anyway.

Ghibli Museum is probably the most famous tourist spot in Mitaka so they decided to allot a bus solely for the museum.

Museum provisions can not take pictures inside, only a few local attractions can be photographed inside the fun should own experience before they can.

The whole building makes you feel like you're inside an actual Ghibli film ; spiral staircases, low archways to climb through, intricately decorated glass ceilings , and lots of paintings, carvings, and sculptures of bizarre vehicles.
